Markets

Tring’s Market Place dates back to the early 14th century when the town was granted a charter by King Edward II permitting townspeople to hold a market. For many years livestock were auctioned, and in 2005 Tring Town Council updated the site, making it suitable for contemporary market trading.

Today we have a weekly Friday Charter Market (tel: 07929 987664 to enquire about a stall) and a fortnightly  Tring Farmers Market

In 2011 many years of hard work by volunteers from the Tring and District Local History and Museum Society came to fruition when the award-winning local history museum was officially opened by Lord Rothschild. The museum is housed in the converted cattle market office building and is a wonderful place to visit.

Tring Market Auctions are renowned for their sales of antiques and furnishings held fortnightly. Visit Tring Market Auctions for more information, and dates of sales.

The Market Place can be hired when markets are not occupying the site; please refer to the Market Place Protocol for Private Use

Church Square is also available for hire, in accordance with the Church Square – protocol for use
