Public Consultation: Proposed Sale Of Asset (Land At Bulbourne Road)

Tring Town Council  carried out a public consultation to seek views from residents on the sale of a Tring Town Council Asset (Land at Bulbourne). An explanation leaflet was distributed to 4500 houses in Tring and local villages in the ‘Tring & Villages Local Directory’ – August 2021 edition. In addition, leaflets were hand-delivered to Bulbourne (around 27), West Leith (around 36) and Hastoe (around 29). Copies were also placed on notice boards around the Town, on the Town Council website, and at regular intervals on Twitter and a Facebook page.

The consultation ran for six weeks, finishing on Monday 27 September 2021. Click here to view the Dacorum Borough Council design statement and a plan of the site. (For information only, as consultation has now ended).

The survey has now closed. Analysis of the results is now taking place, and the findings will be published in due course. Thank you to all residents for taking an interest. We have received a total of 222 responses (180 via the online survey and 42 by email or post).

Results of Consultation: A brief synopsis of the results from the public survey can be read here: Survey results – Proposed sale of asset – this has been compiled by the Town Clerk.

The Council considered the replies to the consultation (a total of 222 responses were received (180 via the online survey and 42 by email or post). At the Council meeting on 25th October 2021, the Council decided to proceed with the sale at this stage. However, this does not mean that the sale will definitely go ahead and there are many further steps required.  At the time of writing this update, Dacorum Borough Council requires the Town Council to agree to Heads of Terms along with a conditional contract before they will submit their planning permission. Draft Heads of Terms and conditional contracts will be prepared and once final drafts are available, they will be presented to the Council for approval. The conditional contract would not be entered into until and if the Council voted to do so.
